PLAYGROUP ATTENDANT POSITION
This position requires qualified canine enthusiasts to supervise dogs in playgroups. You must have dog experience, lots of patience, and a good understanding of dog behavior and body language to qualify for this position. It involves managing multi-dog playgroups, general care-taking, keeping the facility clean, and cleaning up after the dogs.
The morning shifts are: 6:00am – 2:00pm. The afternoon shifts are 2pm – 10pm. The overnight shifts are 10:00pm – 6:00am.
The pay rate for this position depends on your level of experience.
FRONT DESK ATTENDANT POSITION
This position requires customer service representatives to answer phone calls & email, schedule reservations, and check in and out dogs simultaneously in a fast-pace pet care center. You must have excellent people skills, enjoy talking to people about their dogs, have dog experience, strong ability to multitask, and be an avid dog lover to do this job! The front desk shift morning shirts are Monday through Friday 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Saturdays are 7:00 AM to 3PM, and 8AM to 4PM. The Sunday shift is 10:00 AM to 6:00PM. Afternoon shifts are Monday through Saturday 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
We require log-term commitments for this position. We do not hire temporary help for this position.
The pay rate depends on your level of experience.
PET SITTER/DOG WALKER POSITION
This position requires driving to the client’s home and caring for the pets in their own homes. You must live in one of our service areas. Those areas are Fairfax, Fairfax Station, Vienna, Oakton, Chantilly, Centreville, Manassas, Annandale, Burke, Springfield, Arlington, and Alexandria. The hours for Mid-day Dog Walking are typically from 10:00 AM to about 3:30 PM Monday through Friday, Pet Sitting hours vary depending on each pet’s needs. Pet Sitting is morning, evening and weekends depending on each individual pet’s needs. This job involves driving your own vehicle to pet’s homes, walking dogs, and general care taking of different types of pets (mostly dogs and cats). You must have a true passion for animals and be a responsible and trustworthy person. You must have internet access and a reliable vehicle. We conduct background checks and thorough reference checks prior to hiring. The pay for this position is a fixed rate of 60% commission + $0.50 per visit for gas reimbursement (bonuses). It averages out to be about $9.50 minimum per 20-35 minute visit. You will choose one or two areas to cover and your jobs will be only within that range. This position pays well depending on your availability and flexibility. The owner is very selective in hiring for this position. If you are not referred by someone that she knows you must have excellent references. She prefers letters of reference and experience and someone who is conscience. Only long-term commitments need apply.
STAFF SUPERVISOR POSITION
This position requires a strong team leader to manage staff and dogs. You must be an avid dog lover with extensive knowledge of dog behavior, body language, health, and general animal care. We look for a conscience person that can recognize problems and pay attention to detail for this job. Applicant must have management skills and customer service skills. Job responsibilities include general dog care, dog health checks, running dogs for check in and out, staff supervising, scheduling, facility maintenance, cleaning, new staff training, and new dog evaluations. You must have at least one year of work with dogs, and one year of management or supervisory experience to apply. The morning shifts are: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM, and the afternoon shifts are 2 PM – 10 PM. The overnight shifts are 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM. You must commit to long-term employment with APC for this position. The pay rate for this position depends on your level of experience.
GENERAL MANAGER POSITION
This position requires a strong team leader to manage staff and dogs. You must be an avid dog lover with extensive knowledge of dog behavior, body language, health, and general animal care. You must be a conscience person that can recognize problems and pay attention to detail for this job. Applicant must have excellent management skills and customer service skills. Job responsibilities include administration, assisting clients and staff, general dog care, dog health checks, taking dogs to the Vet, running dogs for check in and out, staff supervising, scheduling, facility maintenance, cleaning, new staff training, and new dog evaluations. You must have at least three years of work with dogs, and two years of management or supervisory experience to apply. We only hire long-term commitment for this position, and sign a four-year employment contract. The morning shifts are: 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM, and the afternoon shifts are 2 PM – 10 PM. The pay rate for this position depends on your level of experience.
FRONT DESK ATTENDANT POSITION
You must have prior training, certification, and long-term experience to qualify for this position. You must have excellent dog grooming skills and a positive attitude in dealing with clients and their pets. Most importantly, you must love dogs! APCC Grooming Spa is a great place to groom dogs! The dogs are not kept in cages while drying, we have clean and neat recently renovated work place, and the APC staff are great people to work with! This position pays commission.
PROFESSIONAL DOG TRAINER POSITION
You must be a positive reinforcement dog trainer to work with APC. This position involves conducting training classes in our Training Studio, and individual training sessions. You must be APDT certified with a CPTD-KA, or have other dog trainer certification or formal training and experience as well. Classes are held in our newly renovated training studio and in our large outdoor fenced grass yard. We offer Puppy Classes, Basic Obedience, Intermediate Obedience, Advanced CGC Prep, Nose Work, Tricks, Agility, and private sessions. You need to have similar experience. Trainers get paid commission and are required to maintain cleanliness and safety at our center.
